We're seeking a commercially driven National Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of retail and discounted retail accounts. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a remote environment and enjoys balancing commercial, operational, and customer-focused responsibilities. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll play a key role in delivering customer success, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sustainable growth across your account portfolio. The Role As National Account Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of retail customers, acting as the primary point of contact and building long-term, profitable relationships. Key responsibilities include: • Managing the end-to-end relationship for a portfolio of retail and discounted retail accounts • Leading annual commercial negotiations, including pricing, terms, promotional investment, and account reviews • Maximising sales, margin, and profitability across your customer base • Managing credit control activities where required • Developing and implementing account plans to drive volume, distribution, and profitable growth • Coordinating critical path activities for new product launches, range reviews, and seasonal initiatives • Managing private label and own-brand programmes, including specifications, costing, and supply chain coordination • Working collaboratively with supply chain, technical, marketing, and finance teams to ensure customer commitments are delivered • Resolving commercial, operational, quality, or supply chain issues efficiently and effectively • Producing accurate forecasts, reports, and account performance analysis • Identifying and developing new customer opportunities and expanding existing trading relationships • Representing the business at customer meetings, presentations, and negotiations About You We're looking for an ambitious and organised account management professional who combines strong commercial acumen with exceptional relationship-building skills. You'll ideally have: • Proven experience as a National Account Manager or in a similar commercial account management role • A strong track record of negotiating with retail customers • Experience managing critical path processes, including NPD projects, range reviews, and seasonal launches • Previous responsibility for private label or own-brand accounts • Experience within the food and beverage sector (highly desirable) • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail • The ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative • Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to manage complex stakeholder situations • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Why Apply? This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you'll have genuine ownership of key customer relationships, the autonomy to drive commercial success, and the chance to make a visible impact on future growth. If you're an experienced National Account Manager with a passion for retail account management and business development, we'd love to hear from you.
