Job description

Howdens is recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to join our Runcorn Manufacturing Site. With a £100 million investment driving the expansion and transformation of our Runcorn operation, this is an exciting opportunity to join a FTSE 100 business and make a real impact. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you'll lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring targets are achieved across health and safety, quality, cost, delivery and people metrics. Through effective communication, coaching and development, you'll create a positive, accountable culture while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. Location | Runcorn Contract Type | Permanent Shift Pattern: This role operates on a 3-week rotating shift pattern comprising morning shift (Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:00), afternoon shift (Monday-Friday, 14:00-22:00) and night shift (Sunday-Thursday, 22:00-06:00). Reporting To | Business Unit Manager What you will be doing as an Operations Manager: • Oversee the safe and efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods to meet business demand. • Develop labour plans and budgets to deliver operational and strategic goals. • Drive compliance standards and ensure robust policy and procedure adherence. • Partner with Planning and Operations teams to deliver service priorities. • Build a high-performing, adaptable team through clear leadership and communication. • Collaborate across Supply Chain functions to optimise performance and service levels. • Recruit, develop and engage talent while fostering a positive, values-led culture.
