Job description

Reed Accountancy are currently assisting an established client in the local area in the recruitment of a part-time Payroll Administrator to join their team for an initial period of approximately 3 months, with a review towards the end of this period for a possible extension. This role involves handling various payroll-related tasks and requires a good understanding of UK Tax & NI legislation, statutory payments, and salary sacrifice schemes. Day-to-day of the role: • Responding to employee payroll queries. • Handling payroll inputs and bulk uploads to the payroll bureau. • Conducting payroll checks and calculating manual payments. • Managing pension and benefit reports, including checking and copying data from reports into templates for uploading to the bureau, as well as liaising with pension and benefits providers. • Submitting P45 forms and managing third-party remittances by extracting relevant data from payroll reports and emailing it to third parties. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Knowledge of UK Tax & NI legislation, statutory payments, and salary sacrifice schemes. • Experience with payroll processes and systems, although direct inputting will be limited as payroll is outsourced. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders. • 20 hours per week over 4/5 days preferred.
