Job description

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing payroll operations and ensuring accurate processing within the retail industry. This role requires strong organisational skills and attention to detail to support the accounting & finance department effectively. Description • Accurately process monthly payroll in collaboration with the Payroll Manager, ensuring all payments are correct and deadlines are consistently met. • Maintain and update employee payroll records in line with company policies and legal requirements. • Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees and managers. • Perform payroll reconciliations and provide support with accounts payable tasks where required. • Prepare, analyse, and validate payroll data using Excel, identifying and resolving discrepancies. • Produce clear and accurate payroll documentation, including reports and correspondence, for internal use. • Handle sensitive employee data securely, ensuring strict confidentiality at all times. • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure accurate employee information is used, particularly data provided by the People team. • Monitor employee time and attendance, ensuring weekly timesheets are accurately approved by managers. • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested to support the payroll function. Profile A successful Payroll Administrator should have: • Previous experience in a payroll administration or similar role. • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. • Confident using Excel to analyse and manage data. • Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to handling queries. • Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure. • A strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
