Are you an experienced Payroll & Finance Administrator looking for a varied role where you’ll be supporting both finance and HR?
This role will be working for a leading manufacturer based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. This role is covering maternity leave for approximately 12 months on fixed-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of payroll while supporting finance, HR and the wider business. You’ll be working closely with the Financial Controller and Head of HR, you'll play a key role in ensuring wages are processed accurately, financial records are maintained and employees receive a first-class service.
As the Payroll & Finance Administrator, you will:
• Report directly to the Financial Controller, working closely with both Finance and HR to support the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
• Preparing and processing the monthly wages for approximately 100 staff using Sage 50 Payroll for review and approval
• Administering pension contributions and supporting pay-related activities
• Managing pay queries and maintaining accurate records
• Completing bank and stock reconciliations, investigating any discrepancies
• Supporting purchase ledger and sales ledger activities
• Assisting with month-end reconciliations and finance reporting
• Preparing UK and Ireland VAT reconciliations and supporting VAT submissions
• Preparing employment contracts, offer letters and HR documentation
As the Payroll & Finance Administrator, you will have:
• Previous experience in a Payroll based role, ideally using Sage 50 or similar software
• Good knowledge of finance administration, including reconciliations and accounts support
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information professionally
