Owen Reed is looking for a Receptionist for a top law firm in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded legal practice where you'll be the face of the firm, delivering an exceptional client experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy office. This full-time, office-based position is ideal for someone who is professional, proactive and enjoys working in a client-focused legal environment.
The RoleAs the Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, visitors and colleagues, ensuring every interaction reflects the firm's high standards of professionalism and client care. Alongside front-of-house responsibilities, you'll provide administrative and office support, helping to ensure the office operates efficiently each day.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide a warm, professional welcome to clients, visitors and colleagues.
• Answer, screen and transfer incoming telephone calls efficiently and courteously.
• Notify lawyers and colleagues of client arrivals and escort visitors to meeting rooms when required.
• Manage the daily operation and presentation of meeting rooms, ensuring they are fully prepared for client meetings.
• Prepare refreshments for clients and meetings.
• Receive, record and distribute incoming post, deliveries and legal documents.
• Maintain accurate visitor and delivery records.
• Support the planning and delivery of office events, including room set-up and post-event organisation.
• Produce letters, emails and documents for internal departments.
• Scan, photocopy and manage legal documentation.
• Maintain accurate information within the firm's CRM system.
• Respond to website and general email enquiries.
• Provide flexible administrative support to the wider office and facilities team.
• Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.
About YouWe're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service and thrives in a professional legal environment.
You'll ideally have:
• Previous Reception experience, preferably within a law firm or another professional services environment.
• Experience operating a busy switchboard and handling multiple telephone enquiries.
• Strong administrative skills, including document management, scanning and photocopying.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a polished and professional manner.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to support office events and facilities when needed.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and other business systems.
• A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4–9/A–C), including English and Maths.
Working Hours
• Full-time, office-based
• Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 5:30pm
• Modern offices located within a 5-minute walk of Swindon station
