Residential Support Worker (Temporary) – Children's Home Normancopse, Horley (RH6) £14.21 per hour Flexible Temporary Shifts Available Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We are currently recruiting Temporary Residential Support Workers to support a children's residential home based in Nomancopse, Horley. This is an excellent opportunity for caring, resilient, and enthusiastic individuals who have experience supporting children and young people in residential, supported living, education, youth work, or care settings. The Role As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive home environment for young people. You will act as a positive role model, helping residents build confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting young people with daily routines and life skills • Building positive and trusting relationships • Providing emotional support and guidance • Promoting independence through activities such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and household tasks • Supporting leisure activities and social development • Managing challenging behaviours professionally and consistently • Maintaining accurate records and reports • Working closely with social workers, families, and other professionals • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times What We're Looking For We are interested in hearing from candidates who have: Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential, care, support, education, or youth work setting Strong communication and relationship-building skills Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices Experience supporting vulnerable young people and managing challenging behaviours A positive, proactive, and solution-focused attitude The ability to work independently and as part of a team Good written and record-keeping skills Desirable • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Care or equivalent • Experience working with looked-after children or care leavers • Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Psychology, Social Work, or similar • Multi-lingual skills What's on Offer? • Competitive pay rate of £14.21 per hour • Flexible temporary shifts • Opportunity to gain valuable experience within children's residential care • Ongoing support from an experienced recruitment team • Meaningful work that makes a real difference to young people's lives Apply Now If you're passionate about supporting young people and want to make a lasting impact within a children's residential setting, we'd love to hear from you.
