Job Description: Scrub Nurse Weekend Theatre TeamLocation: James Paget NHS Trust, Great YarmouthOrganisation: Xyla Clinical ServicesContract Duration: November 2025 October 2026Service Type: OnsiteShift Pattern: Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)Theatre Hours: 07:30 18:00 Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Scrub Nurse to join the weekend theatre team at James Paget NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and high-quality perioperative care across a range of surgical specialties, supporting theatre efficiency and patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment within the operating theatre. • Assist the surgical team during procedures by anticipating and providing required instruments and materials. • Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available, checked, and fit for use prior to procedures. • Adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times. • Account for all instruments, swabs, and sharps before, during, and after procedures. • Support patient safety throughout the perioperative pathway. • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and theatre staff. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with clinical standards. • Contribute to the effective and efficient running of theatre lists. • Ensure compliance with all relevant NHS and organisational policies and procedures.
