Senior Acoustic Consultant OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant to join our client's Noise, Acoustics, and Vibration team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a globally recognised climate and performance engineering consulting firm that specialises in overcoming design and operational challenges while minimizing environmental, user, and resource impact. If you are passionate about innovation, integrity, and collaboration, this role is for you. The position is based in London, offering a competitive salary range of £40,000 to £50,000, commensurate with experience. ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Acoustic Consultant, your key responsibilities will include: • Defining the scope of work for new projects. • Conducting and guiding others in environmental and on-site noise and vibration measurements. • Applying expertise in Environmental, Building, and Architectural acoustics disciplines, including sound insulation and reverberation times. • Performing environmental noise and vibration assessments independently. • Utilizing software such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, and other industry-standard building acoustics modeling tools. • Designing effective noise and vibration mitigation measures. • Leading small teams on larger projects. • Building and maintaining strong client relationships. • Ensuring client satisfaction and meeting project milestones. • Preparing clear and concise technical project reports. • Providing expert advice on technical challenges and adhering to quality control procedures. QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience: • A Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Acoustical, Civil, Architectural Acoustics Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a focus on acoustics, noise, and/or vibration. • 6 to 10 years of relevant work experience in Environmental and/or Building Acoustics. • Demonstrated expertise in acoustic design, environmental noise and vibration engineering, and the operation of relevant instruments. • Proficiency in noise guidelines, modeling techniques, and calculations. • Experience with software such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, and other building acoustics modeling tools. • Proven ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships. • Strong organizational, decision-making, and coordination skills. • Membership in the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA/FIOA) is highly desirable. • Full, clean UK driving license and the ability to travel occasionally within the UK. Additional skills that would be advantageous include proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, Max/MSP, AutoCAD, ArcGIS/QGIS, and other relevant software. Day-to-DayYour daily activities will involve: • Collaborating with a team of experts to deliver high-quality acoustic consulting services. • Conducting site visits to perform noise and vibration measurements. • Developing and implementing noise and vibration mitigation strategies. • Preparing detailed technical reports and presenting findings to clients. • Managing project timelines and budgets to ensure successful delivery. • Mentoring and guiding junior team members on larger projects.
