Senior Finance Analyst Location: Derby (Hybrid - minimum 3 days on-site) Contract: 12 months (with potential extension) Pay Rate: £400-£450 per day (Umbrella) We're partnering with a globally respected organisation at the forefront of advanced engineering and power systems, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that support critical industries worldwide. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Analyst to join their Aftermarket Finance team within the Time & Materials revenue stream. This role sits in a high-performing finance function and focuses on accurate financial reporting, robust controls, balance sheet integrity, and insightful analysis to support commercial decision-making. About the Role As Senior Finance Analyst you will play a key part in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for Time & Materials (pay-as-you-go) aftermarket activity. You will ensure the integrity of financial results through strong controls and governance, lead balance sheet reviews and reconciliations, support forecasting cycles, and partner closely with programme finance teams and business stakeholders. You will join a collaborative team of 5-6 professionals that forms part of a larger global finance organisation, with genuine opportunity to drive process improvement and deliver high-quality insight. Key Responsibilities • Support the delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end financial actuals, providing clear variance analysis against budget and forecast. • Partner with programme finance teams to develop robust budgets and forecasts that support business decision-making. • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial results through effective financial controls, documentation and governance. • Lead balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and assurance activities to support reporting compliance. • Manage audit requirements (internal and external) and internal reporting deliverables, ensuring high-quality outputs are delivered on time. • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, control and insight of financial reporting. • Work closely with Finance Business Partners on aftermarket performance discussions and commercial analysis. Skills & Experience • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualified experience. • Strong background in financial control, financial reporting, FP&A or a similar finance function. • Proven experience of month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, actuals reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, balance sheet management and P&L analysis. • Working knowledge of SAP (essential) and advanced Excel skills (essential). • Experience of HFM / One Hyperion systems desirable but not essential. • Strong understanding of technical accounting principles, financial controls and governance requirements. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with a continuous-improvement mindset. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build effective working relationships. Additional Information • Working pattern: Full-time, hybrid (minimum 3 days per week on-site in Derby). • Start date: ASAP
