Job description

Our client is a leading provider of specialist care services across the UK, supporting individuals with complex needs and learning disabilities. Their services include supported living, residential emergency accommodation, and specialist step-down services for individuals with mental health needs. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Senior Finance and Payroll Assistant to be based out of their Altrincham headquarters four days per week, with a day working from home. You’ll be a highly motivated and proactive Senior Finance Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their financial processes. As Senior Finance Assistant you will oversee 2-3 of their entities, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and possessing a positive attitude toward continual process improvements. Senior Finance and Payroll Assistant – Responsibilities - Raising sales invoices, being a point of contact for customers, credit control - Raising PO's, processing purchase invoices, and producing monthly supplier payment runs, bank reconciliations and VAT returns - Processing staff expense claims, communicating clearly with staff if they have queries, and processing company credit cards - Assist with month-end processes, journals, and intercompany reconciliations - End to end processing of payroll, including FPS, submitting pension contributions and being the first point of contact for employee queries - Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing them with accurate and timely financial information. - Continuously assess and implement improvements to financial processes and systems for greater efficiency as the business grows. Senior Finance and Payroll Assistant – Required Skills - 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated ability to take ownership of it - Strong understanding of accounting principles - Experience with end to end payroll processing - Experience of Xero advantageous but not essential - Proactive with excellent communication skills and a continual improvement mindset As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining smooth financial operations while working closely with the Finance Manager and the Chief Finance Officer to ensure timely and accurate reporting. You should be an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented individual.
