Job description

A highly regarded multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its established London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cost consultant to lead the commercial delivery of a diverse portfolio spanning residential, education, public sector, regeneration, and mixed-use developments. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of projects from early-stage feasibility through to final account. You will provide strategic cost advice, manage procurement and tender processes, oversee contract administration, and ensure clients receive clear, commercially robust guidance throughout each commission. Alongside delivering your own projects, you will support the development of junior team members, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the cost management service. This role would suit a confident Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for greater autonomy, more complex project exposure, and a clear route towards Associate level. Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities: • Leading the cost management delivery of projects from inception to completion • Producing and reviewing cost plans, estimates, and procurement strategies • Preparing tender documentation and managing contractor selection processes • Overseeing valuations, variations, financial reporting, and final accounts • Advising clients on contractual, commercial, and project risk matters • Managing relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider stakeholders • Mentoring junior surveyors and supporting their professional development Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements: • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline • Strong UK consultancy experience across pre- and post-contract duties • Proven ability to manage projects independently and provide client-facing advice • Sound knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes • MRICS qualified or nearing completion of the APC • Excellent commercial judgement, leadership, and communication skills In Return: • £75,000-£80,000 per annum • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements • Pension scheme • Professional membership fees paid • Ongoing training and leadership development • Clear progression towards Associate level • Exposure to a broad portfolio of prominent London projects If you are a Senior Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, then please contact Dan McEvoy at Brandon James.
