Tax Junior
Walsall (Hybrid)
Salary up to £26,000 (DOE)
ButlerRose is delighted to be supporting one of our clients who's got a career developing opportunity for a Tax Junior to join their team. They are looking for someone who is motivated and ambitious and wanting to join their growing tax team. Working alongside experienced tax professionals, you will gain exposure to both personal and corporate tax matters.
This varied role offers the opportunity to build your technical knowledge, develop client relationships and gain hands-on experience across a broad range of tax compliance and advisory work.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their tax career to gain broad exposure to both personal and corporate taxation while developing their technical expertise within a friendly and progressive accountancy practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Assist with the preparation of partnership and trust tax returns where required.
• Support senior team members with tax planning and advisory projects.
• Liaise with HMRC regarding client queries, tax codes and compliance matters.
• Assist with researching tax legislation and preparing technical summaries.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure deadlines are met.
• Respond to client queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Support the wider tax team with administrative duties and ad hoc projects.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Keep up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.
Personal Requirements:
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice is desirable, either in tax or a general practice role.
• A genuine interest in developing a career in mixed tax.
• Studying towards, or looking to study, ATT, ACA, ACCA or CTA (support provided where applicable).
• Good understanding of UK tax principles would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with tax software would be beneficial but is not essential.
