Job description

Are you a Technical Manager who is passionate about food safety, quality, compliance, and driving technical excellence within a manufacturing environment? As Technical Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance across a busy 24/7 food manufacturing operation. You'll join a well-established bakery producing premium oat bakes, shortbread products, and own-label products for some of the UK's most recognised retailers and foodservice brands. Working closely with operational and leadership teams across the site, you'll help shape quality culture, deliver continuous improvement, and ensure customer and industry standards are consistently exceeded. This is a highly visible leadership position that offers the opportunity to influence site performance, drive best practice, and make a tangible impact on both customer satisfaction and operational success. Working Monday to Friday with flexible start times, the role provides an excellent work-life balance while offering the challenge and variety of supporting a complex FMCG manufacturing environment. With future progression opportunities available across a wider manufacturing network, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious technical professional looking to build a long-term career within food manufacturing. Responsibilities • Lead and support a culture focused on food safety, quality, and technical excellence throughout the site. • Work closely with production, engineering, hygiene, and senior leadership teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Support the delivery of industry-leading standards within a highly regulated food manufacturing environment. • Contribute to audit readiness, customer confidence, and the ongoing development of site standards and performance. • Champion best practice, compliance, and operational excellence across all areas of the business. Criteria • Experience within technical, quality, food safety, hygiene, or compliance functions within food manufacturing or FMCG environments. • A strong passion for food safety, quality management, and continuous improvement. • Knowledge of retailer standards, food manufacturing compliance requirements, and quality management systems. • Relevant qualifications in Food Safety, HACCP, Quality Management, or Health & Safety would be advantageous. • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills. • A proactive approach with the ability to influence positive outcomes across multiple functions. About us? We are a leading UK food manufacturer, producing a wide range of high-quality bakery products enjoyed by millions of consumers every day. Operating within a fast-paced and highly regulated manufacturing environment, we are committed to delivering exceptional standards of food safety, quality, and customer service. Employing approximately 150–250 colleagues on site and operating 24/7, we continue to invest in our people, facilities, and future growth. Our success is built on creating a culture where individuals are supported to develop their careers, contribute new ideas, and make a meaningful impact on the business.
