The successful candidate will be based within Dermatology and have named educational supervisor for their post.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the development and delivery of clinical teaching to medical students on the St Georges University MBBS programmes. As well as scoping and designing the placement structure for the coming academic year when student numbers will increase a new carousel attachment model is proposed.
Currently, Dermatology learning activities are part of the Penultimate Year (4th Yr) specialties attachment taking place 8 times per year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the teaching components which consists of lectures, small group including patient perspective sessions and case based workshops.
The successful candidate will also deliver Dermatology clinical teaching for students on ward based placements to help blend holistic care principles with other parts of their clinical experience mirroring real world practice.Administrative tasks will include timetabling and liaising with Consultant staff to maximise the use of clinical resources across the Trust.
The post holder will be expected to liaise with similar post holders in identifying deficiencies and opportunities for clinical teaching across the Trust.
