• Provide a clinical pharmacy service to the chemotherapy day units and outpatient prescribing clinics.
• Clinical screen and verify prescription for SACT according to the BOPA Standards for the Pharmacy Verification of Prescriptions for Cancer Medicines.
• Support the medical and nursing teams though provision of pharmacy advice and ensure the safe and timely delivery of oncology services
• To work across the chemotherapy day units, outpatient departments and clinic areas to clinically check the appropriateness of prescribing and promoting medicines optimisation
• Promote the on-going Trust initiatives to continually improve patient experiences of day case chemotherapy
• Liaise with the pharmacy aseptic, dispensary and clinical teams and the multi-disciplinary team on the day units to ensure an efficient, effective and safe chemotherapy service is provided.
• Attend unit meetings if required.
• Participate in pharmacy initiatives within the units as appropriate.
