MMA / Stick Welders - £29.78 per hour.

Role: MMA Welder Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire Type: Contract to Permanent Start Date: Immediate Hours & Pay 45 hours per week 9-hour shifts £22.50 per hour PAYE £29.78 per hour Umbrella 5 days from 7 Initially Monday to Friday Once trained and competent, moving to a two-week rotation working Sunday to Thursday The Opportunity We are recruiting experienced MMA Welders to join a growing rail maintenance operation in Peterborough. This is a contract opportunity The role involves welding repairs, vehicle maintenance, corrosion rectification work and basic mechanical fitting duties. Full training will be provided on wagon maintenance and examination procedures. Key Responsibilities MMA welding repairs on rail vehicles and wagons Reactive and preventative maintenance activities Vehicle examinations (full training provided) Basic mechanical fitting and maintenance support Supporting slinging and lifting operations Attending occasional off-site breakdowns Working outdoors in all weather conditions Training & Development Initial competency training in Peterborough Paid PTS (Personal Track Safety) qualification during your first week Ongoing training in wagon maintenance and examination Opportunity to develop within a growing rail operation Requirements Proven MMA welding experience Welding qualifications/certifications desirable Strong mechanical background Full UK driving licence Willingness to work outdoors and travel when required Flexible approach to occasional overnight stays Desirable Experience working on rolling stock, rail vehicles or wagons Additional Information Successful candidates will be required to complete a drug and alcohol screening following interview.
