Receptionist / Business Administrator
St Albans | Full-Time | Permanent | £25,000–£30,000 DOE

We're recruiting on behalf of a highly respected professional services organisation for an enthusiastic Receptionist / Business Administrator to become the face of their St Albans office.
This is far more than a traditional reception role. You'll be the first point of contact for clients while also supporting a range of business functions including administration, HR, events, learning & development and internal projects. The Role You'll play a key part in ensuring the office runs smoothly while delivering an exceptional experience for clients and visitors. Working alongside a friendly, collaborative team, you'll enjoy a varied workload where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities Reception & Front of House
• Welcome clients and visitors with a warm, professional approach
• Answer and direct incoming calls
• Coordinate meeting room bookings and ensure rooms are presentation-ready
• Prepare refreshments for client meetings
• Manage incoming and outgoing post, couriers and deliveries
• Organise catering and office supplies
• Maintain visitor logs and assist with office security procedures
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the office
Business Administration
• Diary management and meeting coordination
• Prepare business correspondence and documentation
• Support client onboarding and compliance administration
• Scan, file and maintain confidential documents
• Update internal databases and document management systems
• Assist with HR administration and Learning & Development activities
• Help organise company events, charity initiatives and employee engagement activities
• Support business improvement projects and provide administration across multiple departments

Skills & Experience Essential
• Previous experience in reception, administration or customer service
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Professional telephone manner
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable
• Experience within a professional services environment
• Experience using document management systems
